De grondgedachte van stamceltherapie is om cellen te injecteren die groeifactor kunnen afscheiden tussen 6 maanden en 3 jaar, in of rond het oog, en dit proces elke 6 maanden of 3 jaar te herhalen.<\/p>\n<p>Bij gentherapie wordt het defecte gen in fotoreceptoren die hun vitaliteit niet verloren hebben gedetecteerd, het gecorrigeerde gen wordt in virussen geladen en in het oog ge\u00efnjecteerd.
